Safe Places
Drill and Lockdown Procedures
At our school, we use ICE CATS as a way of keeping our children safe.
‘ICE CATS’ Stands for “In Case of Emergency, Children, Adults, Teacher Safety” and is designed to move classes of up to 30 children, quickly, quietly and safely in a child friendly way, in worst case scenario situations, eg weapons in school or possible terrorist threats. We practice this termly.

Health and Safety Inspections
At Mill Lane we have the highest health and safety standards. The school is regularly inspected by trained members of staff and external professionals and we are audited annually by the local authority. All Health and Safety certificates are kept up to date.
Signing In
At our school, all visitors must follow our sign in procedures and wear badges whilst on site.
We challenge everyone!
Site Security Inspections
The security of the school is paramount in keeping our children safe. The high fencing is secure and when gates are open, they are staffed. We have a signing in system and a coloured lanyard system to ensure that only safe people enter the school. Only adults with an enhanced DBS work with our children.
